My Congressman Jim Bridenstine — April Newsletter and Recent Votes — working to stop ObamaCare ASAP!

bridenstine200300April 2013

From the desk of Congressman Jim Bridenstine:

Restoring fiscal responsibility to Washington is one of the most urgent matters facing our nation. We must start living within our means and on a budget.  That is why I voted in favor of the conservative budget offered by Rep. Paul Ryan of Wisconsin that would balance in ten years. Moving toward a point where federal spending does not exceed federal revenue will spur economic growth and real job creation. Such a plan is an immeasurable improvement over our current path of ever increasing debt and economic decline.
.
Washington, specifically the United States Senate, has not done its job of passing a budget for the last four years, so the federal government is forced to operate on a series of so-called “Continuing Resolutions” (CR) instead.  A CR keeps the government running but, just as the name implies, continues “spending as usual” rather than providing a path to fiscal responsibility. I saw the latest CR as the last, best opportunity to stop the wasteful and increasingly unpopular ObamaCare program in its tracks before it is actually imposed. No one in the House fought harder than me to stop ObamaCare.  I voted against the CR since it included full funding to implement ObamaCare, and moving forward I will work to defund, dismantle, and repeal ObamaCare at every opportunity.

Gifts that Ripple through Time

Are you looking for something for someone special to give them this year?  Do you know how to bless your family and friends?

It is a season of gift giving and there can be a lot of pressure to get just the right gift for each and every one and not to forget anyone either.  It can be really hard too because some people already seem to have everything and some people seem to need everything and you do want to bless and give and not offend and not forget.  May I suggest you stop and ask the Lord how to bless your family and friends.  Then you might actually ask the person who you are struggling with in your mind, how you can bless them.  You might even be surprised at the answer.

Sometimes the best gifts are family treasures passed on appropriately.  Sometimes they are the gift of time and talents and then there is a touch and a smile and a hug.  There is a loving word at the right moment.  There are planned events and times together sharing laughter and tears and memory of other special times together with friends and family — special moments that last forever!

I am wanting to give my family some little family treasures.  They aren’t gold and silver (most of them) but momentos from my mom and dad that part of the gift is researching the meaning behind the momento and documenting the story for the family.  I will share some of them here and show you what I mean over time, but right now I want to tell you about a very special gift that I received from my sister and her husband last night.  Years ago when in DC on political affairs and going from meeting to meeting trying to get Congressmen to ‘do the right things’ and build bridges to effective networks, I viewed the Kennedy Center from afar.  I always wanted to go there and last night we did.  The family had perfect seats for a wonderful musical/dance story full of history and entertainment.  We saw “Billy Elliott: The Musical.”

Paula and Tim Caswell (upper left) and Tracy and Byron Caswell (upper right); Ceiling chandelier (center) and Hall of States Flags (lower right)

It was a wonderful evening and the fulfillment of a dream for me!

Thanks to my family for making it possible for me to go and be a part of the adventure with me!

Christianity Today: Interview with Ron Paul on Hot Topics facing Christians and Moral Values

Q & A: Ron Paul on Leaving the Episcopal Church, and Whether to Legislate Abortion, Narcotics, & Same-Sex Marriage
The congressman who won the Values Voters Summit straw poll tells CT that he believes marriage is a sacrament but laws cannot change morality.
Interview by Sarah Pulliam Bailey in Washington, D.C. | posted 10/10/2011 10:09AM

Texas Rep. Ron Paul won a straw poll at the Family Research Council’s Values Voters Summit on October 8, receiving 37 percent of the vote at the social conservative convention. Family Research Council President Tony Perkins downplayed the results some, saying that 600 people registered Saturday morning left after Paul spoke. “I think people are still in the process of deciding where they want to go,” Perkins told reporters. Herman Cain took 23 percent and former Sen. Rick Santorum took 16 percent. Texas Gov. Rick Perry and Minnesota Rep. Michele Bachmann won 8 percent while former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney received 4 percent of the vote.

In his speech, Paul emphasized personal responsibility, using the example of Jesus’ response to prostitution. “He didn’t call for more laws. But he was very direct and thought that stoning was not the solution to the problem of prostitution,” he told the crowd. “So do laws take care of these things, or do we need a better understanding of our Christian values and our moral principles?” In an interview withChristianity Today following his speech, Paul explained why he doesn’t think the government can create morality.

Tom Horn: On the Lost Symbol, 2012 in the Occult World, and Freemasonry in DC

Hat Tip to Bryan for sending me this great video link.  He always sends what I need when I need it.  We need to be wise as serpents and gentle as doves, because there is great wickedness afoot.  People do not always tell you the truth, but you can always count on and lean on and look to our Creator God, the one who loved us so much He gave Himself a ransom on our behalf.  May you know Him and walk with Him through the perilous times we live in.  I remember thinking that Y2K was a bit too early and yet that people needed to be preparing and being wise stewards and that it was not a wasted exercise to plan to survive rough times.  Well drought has come to Oklahoma, spending still runs amok in DC, and wars still continue on foreign shores and on our southern border. Undeclared all, but people dying none-the-less.  Ask the Lord what you need to do to protect your family and your community during the days ahead.  Pray without ceasing.  Look to God and not man for solutions and direction.  Call on the name of the Lord in time of need.  Keep looking up!  Blessings/sc

Thomas Horn at the Southwest Radio Bristol Conference 2011 hints at the incredible reasons he wrote the best selling book “Apollyon Rising 2012” and what ancient pagan cultures and founding Freemasons in the United States believed and encoded on the Great Seal and the layout of Capitol Center in Washington DC concerning the coming of a Pagan god in 2012. This would not be believable if not for Tom Horn’s credentials and access to scholars in history, theology, and occultism, two-dozen of whom helped him with this book. The power at work behind global affairs and current planetary powers are hurriedly aligning for a New Order from Chaos. Why? Take the Test Yourself: BUSH or OBAMA? Can 8-28 DC rally-goers match spending facts with the right president?

The BA team breezed through the big 8-28 rallies in Washington, DC to test the government spending IQ of participants. Below are the questions asked in the video and the answers (with sources). But don’t spoil the fun: first watch the video and test yourself.

(1) Q: Bush or Obama? This president spent a record-breaking $3 trillion in a single year.
A: Both. In 2008, Bush was the first president to spend $3 trillion in a single year. According to White House estimates, Obama will spend $3.6 trillion in 2010 and $3.8 trillion in 2011.
 Source:http://www.whitehouse.gov/omb/budget/…

(2) Q: Bush or Obama? This president bailed out hundreds of large banks and corporations.
A: Both. Obama carried out Bush’s unpopular $700 billion bailout for failing corporations. Together, the presidents have bailed out over 600 businesses since Spring 2008. Source:http://www.nytimes.com/packages/html/…

(3) Q: Bush or Obama? This president spent billions of taxpayer dollars on “stimulus” spending during a recession.
A: Both. In 2008, Bush spent over $100 billion on rebates to stimulate consumer spending – his second attempt at using spending as stimulus. In 2009, Obama enacted a $814 billion stimulus package. Sources: http://useconomy.about.com/od/fiscalp… http://www.cbo.gov/ftpdocs/117xx/doc1…

(4) Q: Bush or Obama? This President increased spending by many times the rate of inflation across most non-defense categories.
A: Both. Contrary to popular belief, defense and homeland security spending only made up about 40 percent of Bush’s new spending.  He increased spending across most non-defense categories (such as education, Medicare, income security) by four to six times the rate of inflation. In Obama’s first half year in office, many of these budgets rose another 70 percent. (5) Q: Bush or Obama? This president passed an expensive healthcare bill.
A: Both. In 2003, George Bush signed into law Medicare Part D, which cost hundreds of billions of dollars. As you probably know, President Obama also enacted an expensive healthcare package earlier this year (though cost estimates vary considerably). Source:http://www.forbes.com/2009/11/19/repu…
