Oklahoma – Special Elections by County on March 6th – THIS IS YOUR VOTE REMINDER!

Here is a listing of all the special elections by county across Oklahoma (it is a pdf file and downloadable):

Only problem is it doesn’t give you the ballot wording on bonds. It does give you candidate names on the ballot in those cases. But you will still have to do your own research!  This will simply tell  you if there is an election in your area.

For my friends in Bartlesville, here is the ballot wording for all the money on the table for us in the City of Bartlesville.

In summary:

  • Proposition No 1 – City Equipment Projects – $1,995,000
  • Proposition No 2 – Parks and Recreation Facilities Projects – $8,260,000
  • Proposition No 3 – Street Projects – $5,120,000
  • Proposition No 4 – Storm Drainage Projects – $1,125,000

GRAND TOTAL (if all approved) $16,500,000

Sixteen Million Five Hundred Thousand Dollars

What happens in a declining population base?  Can we really afford all this?  Will property taxes really remain the same?

I am so mad about the bundling of the much extravagant and unneeded amphitheater in proposition 2 – I may just vote no across the board.  I mean if they would do that on item 2 who knows what is buried in the other items!

My philosophy is when in doubt vote no and this time there is no doubt on Proposition 2 in my mind!

If you want more information on why to vote no on Proposition 2 visit on facebook Vote No on the Price Tower Park

The Truth Shall Set you Free…The School Board, School Bond & City Council – Joel Rabin speaks out!

Featured Image -- 5489For your prayerful consideration because a friend told me (and I agree) that it is worse than you think. First the current school board has not done a good job of setting priorities, second there is a faulty growth assumption built into their numbers, and third we all need to learn to live within our means! Vote No on August 23rd and let’s save our community from bonded indebtedness that we cannot afford.

This is the 7th “weekly” 30-second CableOne Ad for my [Joel Rabin’s] Ward 4 City Council candidacy (in HD) entitled, “The Truth Shall Set You Free . . . The School Board, School Bond & City Council”. It comes directly from my Public Comment to the Bartlesville City Council on Monday, August 1st. It starts August 15th, and will be shown through August 23rd (the day of the School Bond vote), on seven key CableOne TV channels . . . A&E, Discovery, ESPN, HGTV, TBS, Fox News, and the Food Channel.

My redirection to an all-out “VOTE NO” campaign against the August 23rd School Bond vote came on the heels of our local media’s reporting . . . and the School Board’s admitting . . . that the half of the School District’s bus fleet is “Outdated and Unsafe”. That did it for me personally, in terms of the School Board “going over the top”.

Senate District 29 Event with Daniels and Oliver via Examiner Enterprise Report

By Nathan Thompson

Julie Daniels and Jean Oliver, both Republican candidates for state Senate District 29, answered questions Monday night during a forum sponsored by the Green Country Republican Women’s Club, held in the Bartlesville City Council chambers.

The event was moderated by Charlie Taraboletti of Bartlesville Radio, and was standing room only. The candidates answered questions ranging from the struggling state budget, education and criminal justice reform.

Oliver said she was very frustrated with the current legislative session. As a former teacher and wife of a physician, she was troubled with the budget cuts to public schools and health care.

“I’m not a politician, but I decided to run for office when I read about all the problems that Oklahoma was having with its finances,” Oliver said. “I’m especially concerned about the situation with education. I was approached by several educators because they want this issue addressed. We cannot continue to cut and cut and cut educational funding. Oklahoma has cut more funding in education, more than 23 percent, than any other state in the nation.”

Daniels said she wanted to run for office to restore the conservative platform of liberty and to stop federal mandates that have been brought onto state government.

“I very much believe in the strength of our representative form of government,” Daniels said. “I believe in individual freedom and opportunity. I believe in the strength of the family as the basis of the entire network. I am dismayed, disheartened and sometimes discouraged like so many of my conservative brethren in how much we have lost of these freedoms, mainly from the encroachment of the federal government upon states.”

daniels-insetSpeaker:  Julie Daniels

Julie Daniels is a candidate for Oklahoma Senate Seat District 29. Senator John Ford currently occupies this seat but is termed out. Julie is also a former Mayor of Bartlesville.  Many of you know her well, but we will all learn more about Julie Daniels and her thoughts on issues facing our state, county and city. We will have plenty of time for Q&A and then time for prayer at the end.

Please come join in the discussion. You will enjoy getting to know Julie and hear from her and ask questions too!
We will hopefully get an update on her campaign as well.

Hope to see you next Tuesday night!
Scripture to consider: Matthew 6:10

Your kingdom come,

your will be done,

on earth as it is in heaven.

I am suggesting we Pray Matthew 6:10 over our city replacing the word “earth” with Bartlesville —  “Your kingdom come, your will be done, in Bartlesville as it is in heaven”.
Bring your questions & friends and make plans to attend!
You can RSVP on facebook here >>>
Please feel free to share this email and invite others who might enjoy this time together.  All are welcome!
