Twisted Sisters in Christ – a dialogue with you!

by Anita Yvonne Schneider

Twisted Sisters in Christ (free to read on Scribd) – click on this link to read the book!

This publication actually occurred in July of this year (2022) but I have been wanting to do a blog on the topic because it was such a special event in my life! You see Anita and I grew up together in the Houston area in the 1970’s timeframe. Our parents were friends and we were best buds. Working on this book with her was an absolute delight – a trip through scripture together and a project formed out of our lives. It is now in print or at least online free to all to read, share, and download. I believe that it will bless your life!

From Anita as we were working on the book: “I am sharing a dialogue written over the years … a one on one conversation between the Holy Spirit and myself … others … and now you. If you have difficulty following, keep reading until you become wrapped up in the conversation. That’s when The Golden Cord will twist.”

Anita is a Follower of the Way, Daughter of the Faithful, Wife of the Honored, Mother of the Strong, Deemaw of the Precious. Lover of the broken, the lost, and the found.

Called to be the Light in the darkness, to share His Truth and Hope for the hopeless.

To stand with Wisdom as a standard against the wiles of the evil one … for our battle is not against flesh and blood but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the world powers of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavens.

Her greatest accomplishment is knowing who she is in Christ … and in Christ alone.“

I’ve known Anita for most of my life. We were twisted sisters before we knew what that meant. We had adventures together, shared the Lord and many friends together growing up. We were both blessed to have believers for parents who taught us fundamental biblical principals. One thing not mentioned in the book is that she could sing “Amazing Grace” like no one else! This book is for everyone, at any phase of life. It is so unique, so Anita, so important, and so fun. It is profoundly simple and flowing too. It is indeed a conversation with her, but our prayer is that it will spark a life long conversation between you and our Heavenly Father through Yahshua(His Son)“

A Conservative — Really?

A Conservative — Really?

by Margaret Snow

After many years of following politics and being a active voter and frankly, a citizen activist who actually follows legislation, reads bills, and spends time lobbying my legislators for what I believe in — I am quite amused that here in Oklahoma politicians ALL seem to be running as “Conservative.” I make no apologies for being a Constitutional Conservative, a Fiscal Conservative, and a Social Conservative in my views. The references that I find helpful in forming what I believe are on the nightstand next to my bed. They are the Bible, the United States Constitution and the Bill of Rights, plus an old US History book written before revisionist history was introduced into our schools.

Truth via CrossExamined

Conservative or Progressive

If you don’t agree with me, I will still love you but for goodness sake, “Who do you think you are fooling when you call yourself a conservative?” I think the answer to that very question could be a lot of people are confused about the fact that they are likely to be “Progressives” rather than Conservatives.

If you are a Progressive, please have the integrity to claim it for those that agree with your positions. Claiming verbally now as a candidate to be conservative will not override your actual views and the positions you will take when elected. Most of your supporters will potentially be one-issue voters who don’t want to look past the agenda they feel will benefit them personally. Many of them are looking for immediate gratification regarding a particular issue that they are passionate about. They will care less or even refuse to consider, the larger picture of how a variety of positions taken today will affect the freedoms and prosperity of generations to come.

Being truly conservative requires applying the same liberty standards to every issue and doing it all the time even when we have to consider giving up something in the present that might benefit us personally.

Ideas Have Consequences

As an observer, I have come to the conclusion that voters are confused about what a real conservative is and even more confused about their own conservative status. It seems many voters are actually confused to a point where they fail to recognize that when a progressive claims to be conservative, they verbalize support for rights and liberties for citizens but take positions that are very much at odds with conservative values. Here are some examples of this type of belief system:

  • Government knows better how to spend your money than you do and in order to balance a budget, government just needs a few more tax dollars to be sure its spent right and the right programs are funded.
  • Progressives might agree that we should be afforded our 2nd amendment right but feel government may just know better than the citizenry how far that right goes.
  • Progressives say that we should have private property rights but at a certain point, they feel government knows better than we do how to manage the property we own and love.
  • Progressives think that government knows what is better for our children than we as parents do.

Truth in Labeling

Some would argue that this explanation is too extreme to describe the views of their particular candidate and that there are exceptions, but in reality a conservative believes that if we give government an inch today (or a 1% tax) they will be taking a mile (or making it 30%) in the future. I would like to see more truth in labeling. If you really are a Progressive then own it. If you really are a Conservative and get elected, please don’t open the door even an inch because we all know where that leads.

Not even in my lifetime have I actually been able to experience a period when our government has held to the guidelines that our founding fathers wrote in the most perfect document to ever govern a country. I do believe though, that there are many, like myself, who actually come close to an understanding of that precious concept and have a true desire to preserve liberty for those we will leave behind.

About the Author

Margaret Snow - OHF ThumbnailMargaret Snow is a mother, grandmother, business owner, and native of Oklahoma. She has enjoyed a long successful career in the interior field and started five small businesses over the years both in Oklahoma and in Colorado.

She attributes the foundation for her philosophy on life as being engrained growing up on a dairy farm with hard work ethic and responsibility. Along with her Dad one of the most influential people in her life was her grandmother who lived in the home until she was ten years old. Spending many days literally side by side with her grandmother who was extremely creative, a wonderful story teller, a real historian, and a valuable instructor probably influenced Margaret’s interest in both history and current events throughout the years.

Several years ago Margaret along with her husband Mike returned to Oklahoma to live on a small portion of the old farm where Margaret grew up. Mike recently retired and although Margaret still works on select projects for her clients, today they are enjoying what they consider “the good life” and have opened a real country store on the property.

Derek Prince: The Purpose of God’s Laws

The Purpose of God’s Laws

Psalm 119:90–91

Your faithfulness [O Lord] continues through all generations; you established the earth, and it endures. Your laws endure to this day, for all things serve you.     NIV

Today with Derek Prince     The power behind the universe is not something purely physical. It’s not atoms or electrons or other scientific objects but it’s the Word of God. In the New Testament we are told that the heavens were formed by the Word of God. The universe, the things which are seen, were not made of things that do appear. That behind the whole world is that invisible, irresistible, creative and sustaining power of the Word of God. God’s laws govern this universe. They may be invisible, but they’re very real and according to this word that I’ve read, all things serve God.

Isn’t that a wonderful thought? Everything in the universe is fulfilling God’s laws and working out His purposes. And His purposes center in His people so that all God’s laws are really working together for our benefits.

In the New Testament Paul tells some Christians, “All things are for your sakes.” Can you grasp that? God’s laws and purposes – they are all for us. They’re all working out that which is good for us and they control the universe. Many other factors may seem to enter in, but ultimately its God’s laws that settle our destiny.

[Derek Prince’s teaching ministry has blessed me throughout my life, first in Jamaica when just out of high school and now with his daily devotionals via email.  Thanking our heavenly Father for men and women who share the gospel tirelessly and with great concern for people to know Jesus and be set free from sin and death!  One day when asking the Lord if I would fulfill my purpose? He answered me this way.  “How could it not be so.”  Indeed!  More of a statement than a question.  Worth pondering.  Blessings/sc]

A personal note from Jesse and the graphic now included with the book (reprinted with permisson):

After considerable research I have finally obtained permission to use Figure 1, pg. 24, which depicts  the South American butterfly, Morpho rhetenor, (“In the beginning was information” and Scientific American, Vol. 245, Nov. 1981).  Sandra Crosnoe has suggested that I may be seeing the significance of this photo through engineer’s eyes, and I must confess there may be some truth in that observation.  However, from the time I first saw this unbelievable microstructure I was struck by the fact that no objective observer should fail to recognize that someone beyond the realm of man and nature created this wonderful masterpiece.  I hope readers of this writing will see what I saw.
