How We Treat People Really Does Matter

…Party Unity for Thee, but Not for Me

Unfortunately, the Washington County/District 1 leadership’s handling of an upcoming fundraiser in Dewey called me to point out that calls for “Party unity” must be consistent.  How we treat people matters – all of the time – not depending upon which faction is in or out of power.

When I first received the letter below from Suzanne Callihan on behalf of Grace Farmer, I was stunned at the many levels of poor protocol and bad behavior for unity of the party embedded.  So I called Randy Brogdon our recently elected State Republican Party Chair to see if he had even been invited to the event. The answer was no he had not.  So I proceeded to write a note to Grace and see if she would correct the problems.  Here is a copy of my note sent on July 16th:
Grace,
In reviewing the press release, I find myself mystified at the breach of protocol in excluding our new Republican Party State Chair as one of your special guest speakers. When I first read it I hoped that Randy had been invited but declined. Unfortunately, when I called him today, he reported that he was not invited.
 .
I would not like to think that Randy was purposefully excluded but it might very well be difficult for many people involved with the party to avoid drawing that conclusion, based on history. Considering that Party leadership should set an example and avoid all appearance of impropriety or personal conflicts of interest, it would seem that the obvious thing to do would be secure an appearance or attendance by Randy and send out an updated, corrected version of the release.
 .
I do hope to hear from you within a day or two about corrective action on this so that I don’t find myself in an awkward position when I update my network about upcoming events and can send the corrected version.  I would also hope that the revised version would be sent to everyone that the original was sent to as well.
 .

Sandra Crosnoe

No apology note or corrected email has gone out so far to my knowledge.  I understand that now Randy Brodgon has had a phone call or message from Grace inviting him to or letting him know about the event.  Time will tell if he will be given the respect due the office or even if he will be able to attend the event due to this late notice.

Meanwhile I am asking all my Washington County friends to make sure that whatever they are giving the local party for the event below, please take time to be a Minuteman for the State Party.  It is easy and you can donate monthly or annually here >>> or click on pic below.

Every vote counts and as you well know leadership matters.  I believe that Randy Brogdon will lead with a message that stands on principle and the basic tenets of our constitution.  I believe he will both grow the party and unify us by his style, his principles and his message.  He is articulate, has a strong work ethic, is a successful businessman, and above all a gracious gentleman to all he meets.  As cofounder of R3publicans, an Oklahoma precinct chair, an alternate delegate to the Republican National Convention in 2012, and an Oklahoma Grassroots activist, Randy Brogdon has my whole-hearted endorsement for Oklahoma Republican Party State Chair.

Thank you for your service and your time as a delegate and an activist!

Sandra Crosnoe for Oklahoma R3publicans

Randy Brogdon Leads the Pack of Conservatives for US Senate Race in Oklahoma

As a matter of fact you might say he is the only conservative in the race for US Senate in Oklahoma.

Several weeks ago, grassroots leaders got together in Oklahoma to tell you why we are not supporting TW Shannon for US Senate. This occurred in response to some ‘national teaparty’ leaders who made a swing through the state telling us he was our man. Our letter letting them know about the error of their ways is entitled why Oklahoma Grassroots Leaders and Activists Do Not Support TW Shannon and it is here >>>

Then there are those telling us why James Lankford deserves a promotion including via his own TV ads touting his ‘conservatism’; that is until you look at his voting record which is in and of itself rather dismal. I shared with you his bad votes recently on FGST here >>>

So now it seems only fitting to let you know that there is a real conservative leader on the ballot in the primary. The media is trying to ignore him and even excluding him from some events (so what else is new right?!), but the people know that he has been there for us on so many fronts in so many battles over recent years. He’s the kind of man who is there at crunch time for you and not all focused on taking credit for all the hard work of so many people in the matter when the job is done! However you know that he was there early on and when it mattered – like for instance with the repeal of Common Core recently. Now that is a leader and one that we will not have to lobby all the time to get to do the right thing!

Comparison piece with startling differences between the top three candidates.

Randy Brogdon 93%  others both in the 70 % range – barely passing!

But then of course I must also point out the differences in support for higher spending.  Lankford voted 3 times to raise the debt ceiling.  That does it for me – how about you?  Real ID anyone?  Support for Mitch McConnell?

Looks to me like the choice is clear – Randy Brogdon for US Senate.  I believe he can take it without a run-off  if only people look at the record and the money trail.  Will you help me tell the story and get out the word in your precinct?  Primary elections are about voting for the best candidate.  Run-offs will be held if necessary.  This one is a no brainer as far as I am concerned!

What is Important in a Campaign? – Well that Depends on the Man!

Yesterday at the Rock the Vote Event in Bartlesville at Sooner Park, several of us were visiting under the shade about campaigns and good times.  As we were getting ready for the event, speakers and bands were gathering, people were on the hillside visiting, flags were waving and the weather was perfect.  Off in the distance, games were in progress and children were on their skateboards traversing the hills and rolling paths.

Suddenly one of the boys coming down a hill we could see, took a spill and was on the ground.   I am sure he was in pain, but also not wanting people to know of his fall.  Randy Brogdon was right by my side and saw the fall occur.  He said to me,  “I’m going to go see if he is ok.” and proceeded to walk the distance to check on the young man.  A friend of mine snapped this picture and shared it with me.Randy Brogdon with Skateboarder1

She later visited with the young man herself and asked if he know who he was talking to earlier and he indicated that he did not. She told him that was Randy Brogdon and that he was a candidate for US Senate. The young man expressed his amazement and appreciation that Randy Brogdon took time away from his campaign and the event to check on him. Randy did not do it for thanks or public accolades, he did it because he cares about the people. How do I know? Because he knew the picture was taken but did not ask for a copy or ask us to make it public.

But I thought you should know.

If you want more information about his campaign, please visit Randy Brogdon (RandyBrogdon.com)
