Signs of the Times Series: Timing 2 – 1290 Days

Timing 2 – 1290 Days

Earlier this year [written and shared in 2011], I thought that 2011 may be the year in which the Jewish temple or “sanctuary” as defined by Daniel would be built on Mount Moriah in Jerusalem. Short of a miracle I don’t see how this could be the case in 2011. However, significant events are occurring in the Middle East which may soon lead to the beginning of specific periods of time revealed to Daniel.

Whenever, the daily sacrifice begins in the newly built and dedicated Jewish temple or “sanctuary”, this marks the beginning of a 2300 day countdown as defined in Daniel 8: 13-14.

I discussed these 2300 days in a previous e-mail [link to previous post here for reference]. In this e-mail I wish to point out another time period that was revealed to Daniel. This period of time is 1290 days.

Daniel 12: 11-12 defines this 1290 days: “And from the time that the daily sacrifice shall be taken away, and the abomination that maketh desolate set up, there shall be a thousand two hundred and ninety days.”

What is Daniel 12: 11-12 telling us??? It is saying that 1290 days will go by from the time the daily sacrifice is stopped until the abomination that maketh desolate is removed and the temple/sanctuary is cleansed. Soon we may be able to see the beginnings of the below sequence of events:

The Jews build a small temple or “sanctuary” on Mount Moriah in Jerusalem.
The new “sanctuary” is dedicated.
Daily animal sacrifices begin at the new “sanctuary” and continue 1010 days (see below for explanation).
The armies of the antichrist stop the daily sacrifice.
The abomination that maketh desolate is set up at the new “sanctuary” site.
The “sanctuary” remains without daily sacrifice for 1290 days.
The abomination that maketh desolate is removed and the “sanctuary” is cleansed.

Daniel 8: 13-14 tells of 2300 days in which the daily sacrifice is begun and continues. These 2300 days also includes the time the sanctuary will be without daily sacrifice and is desecrated by the abomination of the antichrist. This latter period is 1290 days as defined in Daniel 12:11.

By subtracting 1290 from 2300 one obtains 1010 days. These 1010 days are the time the daily sacrifice will continue. The remaining 1290 days is the time the sanctuary will be desecrated. There will be no daily sacrifice during that time. This is more clearly shown below:

2300 days:     time of daily sacrifice + time the sanctuary will be desecrated
– 1290 days:                                  time the sanctuary will be desecrated
————————————————————————————————————-
1010 days:     time of daily sacrifice

The “sanctuary” could be built by the Jews on Mount Moriah within the next couple of years. When this event happens, be on notice that from the day the daily sacrifice begins that there are 1010 days until the antichrist stops those sacrifices. Soon after stopping the daily sacrifice the antichrist will set up his abomination that maketh desolate at the temple site. When this event occurs, know that the great tribulation will officially begin per Biblical prophecy.
