A Life Dream Begins to Come to Pass

On Saturday, April 14th, at our District 01 Republican Convention in Tulsa, Amanda Teegarden graciously placed my  name in nomination for Republican National Delegate.  I am pleased to report that I received an alternate delegate slot and I will go to Tampa Florida in August.  I will be asking the state convention in May to upgrade my status to delegate and we will see if that can yet occur.  I would appreciate your continued prayers on the matter.

Thank you Amanda Teegarden for nominating me!

Because of the time allotted to all the candidates to speak and because of my wanting the speech to NOT be read,  here is what was ‘planned’ but I cannot tell you what was actually said.  If I get a video link, I will attach it later to this post for you:

I am Sandra Crosnoe. I am from Washington County. I appreciate the opportunity to speak to you today.

I appreciate you being here today to make decisions for our district and for our party. I know you sacrifice time from your family with every moment you spend on political matters. I appreciate that sacrifice.

I know because I have served with many of you on committees and on various projects. I have served as a Republican precinct chair for over 30 years, first in Texas and more recently since I came to Oklahoma in 2005.

You may be aware of my work online with blogs and communication networks, with social networking, with organizing rallies and teaparties, with speaking and mentoring and training in person and via Skype.

Through it all, I have encouraged people to get involved with their local Republican party, serve in volunteer roles, and talk to their representatives in order to really make a difference.

You did and you have and you are. You are here today. Some of you are serving in office and others are now running for office. We have more work to do together!

What draws us together as Republicans are our core principles and our shared values:

We are for limited constitutional government and for free markets and yes, a lot less government.

We support the second amendment — the right to keep and bear arms.

And yes we are prolife — because every life is precious and a gift from God!

I know that together we must hold our leaders and ourselves accountable to these principles. I know that we are a party that believes in the rule of law AND promotes grassroots activism. I believe that every voice is important. I will work to make sure that things are done according to the rules. I will insist on openness and fairness to make sure that everyone has a chance to participate. If you send me, I will go. I will continue my work to get our message of Life and Liberty out across the Land. This election is about more than the just the presidency. It is about promoting people of principle who will make a difference. Together we will Restore the Republic so that future generations may live free and prosper in this great Nation.

I pray God’s blessings on this District, this great state of Oklahoma and this Nation.

I would appreciate your vote for Republican National Delegate!

Yes Sandra Crosnoe wants to serve as a Republican National Delegate — Congressional District 01 votes on Saturday April 14th in Tulsa

R3publicans

Here’s an open letter to share with friends going to the Republican Party District 01 Convention in Tulsa this weekend.  I am asking for your vote and your prayers and your support in this effort.  Thank you for all you do for life and for liberty in our land!

Dear Republican Friends/Leadership,

Most of you know me from things we have worked on together or via websites/blogs/emails/ and our mutual efforts to get our country back on course. I would love to represent you and serve in the capacity of a delegate to the National GOP Convention this year. I believe my experience serves the party well in this role. Most know that I have worked tirelessly to move the ship of state in the ‘right’ direction. I place core principles and operating philosophy above party, because I believe that is what will best grow our party and solve the tremendous problems we face. While Christian values will always trump party politics, I think that is what makes our party the hope of the nation — because we do honor ethics and values in our party.  Sure we need to do better and we will as we challenge one another in the process and as we shine the light on matters.

We as a party must now come to a consensus and work together in the days ahead not only to defeat Obama, but to elect principled conservative, Republicans up and down the ladder.  You know me and that  I will continue to work to get out the truth and build our party around core principles.  On that you can rest assured.  In addition to that, I will continue to work to keep people involved in productive ways. There is much we all agree on and much left for us to debate as we work toward difficult economic solutions ahead and get our businesses set free from over-reaching regulations so that they can truly prosper and innovate and create jobs.  We need less government — a lot less government!

Through the years I have served on most committees and in most volunteer roles available in campaigns and relative to issues advocacy in the Republican Party both in Texas and now in Oklahoma.  In recent years, I have focused on communications networks and mentoring future leaders.  I appreciate the many people and the countless hours that go into making our party great.  You are a part of that process.  Thank you!  Together, we must hold our own people and our own party accountable to our platform and core principles even as we challenge our opponents on substantive matters.

It is important what we say and how we say it. The message and the actions must line up!  I helped with some of the original teaparty efforts and rallies and became widely known for social networking;  training and mentoring others all along the way.  I will work with you to continue to grow our party and I believe that in doing so we will all help to Restore the Republic in the process.  This will cause others to join us and actively engage as they see that we mean business and we mean what we say.

I ask for your support to be a delegate to the Republican National Convention to be held in Tampa later this year. I will do my best to represent you well and will work with with others to reach consensus on what is truly best for our party and our nation.  We will achieve our common goals together.  We must.  The very future of the nation depends upon us doing so.

Vote Sandra Crosnoe for National Delegate for Life and LIberty in our Land

Preliminary Returns Indicate that Fiscal Sanity has Reigned In Bartlesville BISD Spending — For Now!

Fiscal sanity reigns in Bartlesville — both bonds failed to achieve 60% margin to ‘pass’; there is still much work to be done to get our house in order so that all levels of government learn to live within their means. The school board needs to make some operational changes and listen to the people or they will need to be replaced in the days ahead.

Detail returns available here: Bartlesville voters say ‘no’ to school bond propositions | Examiner Enterprise, Bartlesville

Bartlesville voters say ‘no’ to school bond propositions

The community rejected both Bartlesville Public School District bond propositions, while Copan’s proposition passed with overwhelming community support.

Voters told the Bartlesville Public School District to go back to the drawing board on its plan to build a new sixth and seventh grade center and reconfigure the grades at the secondary levels.

According to unofficial election results, only 49.54 — 2,531 people — percent voted for the $48 million proposition, while 50.46 percent — 2,578 people — voted against the proposal.

School bond proposals require a 60 percent majority to pass.

The community also voted down a proposition that would have allowed the district to spend $1.5 million on transportation, including new buses. Over half of the voters — 54.36 percent — voted for the proposition, but it still fell shy of the 60 percent approval rate needed to pass it.

.

Thank you to an ever vigilant Bartlesville Community and Grassroots Bartlesville for keeping the facts in front of the people.  It will require much work to force all levels of government to make cuts and shrink the size and scope of government so that the private sector can thrive and grow.

I also recommend two specific changes which would dramatically improve the process:

1)  Support and pass the legislation being recommended by Rep Josh Cockroft to force this type of elections be voted on when other matters are already scheduled and on the ballot.  We should follow Rep Josh Cockroft’s recommendation that we combine these types of school bond elections with other more major elections so that they come under more scrutiny from more voters.  We could also avoid the expense of a ‘special’ election attended by low voter awareness and turnout. If everyone is going to end up paying more in taxes, then let’s make sureeveryone gets an opportunity to vote at a time when they normally do so on other matters.  Rep. Josh Cockroft of McCloud says he believes changing the date of the elections would increase voter participation. Cockroft says if schools are to improve, the entire community should be involved in their futures.  Currently, school board elections are held on the second Tuesday in February or on the date of the presidential primary.

More about this legislative recommendation were here >>> (this link is no longer active)

New link with bill numbers here >>>

2)  Enable/require public utilities in the area to provide public service release(s) of ballot wording well in advance of ALL elections.  No taxing entity should be able to even attempt to pass tax increases with only certain segments of the tax base being made aware of the changes impacting everyone in the area.  Openness and transparency in government is needed at all levels.

Christianity Today: Interview with Ron Paul on Hot Topics facing Christians and Moral Values

Q & A: Ron Paul on Leaving the Episcopal Church, and Whether to Legislate Abortion, Narcotics, & Same-Sex Marriage
The congressman who won the Values Voters Summit straw poll tells CT that he believes marriage is a sacrament but laws cannot change morality.
Interview by Sarah Pulliam Bailey in Washington, D.C. | posted 10/10/2011 10:09AM

Texas Rep. Ron Paul won a straw poll at the Family Research Council’s Values Voters Summit on October 8, receiving 37 percent of the vote at the social conservative convention. Family Research Council President Tony Perkins downplayed the results some, saying that 600 people registered Saturday morning left after Paul spoke. “I think people are still in the process of deciding where they want to go,” Perkins told reporters. Herman Cain took 23 percent and former Sen. Rick Santorum took 16 percent. Texas Gov. Rick Perry and Minnesota Rep. Michele Bachmann won 8 percent while former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney received 4 percent of the vote.

In his speech, Paul emphasized personal responsibility, using the example of Jesus’ response to prostitution. “He didn’t call for more laws. But he was very direct and thought that stoning was not the solution to the problem of prostitution,” he told the crowd. “So do laws take care of these things, or do we need a better understanding of our Christian values and our moral principles?” In an interview withChristianity Today following his speech, Paul explained why he doesn’t think the government can create morality.

Grassroots Republicans Welcome Victories!

…But Urge Continued Action Following Elections

Tuesday began with many people wondering whether it would be a “good night” and exactly how the elections would turn out. The results were generally as expected, with Republicans winning back the U.S. House of Representatives and sweeping the state offices in Oklahoma.

The 2009 Tea Party movement occurred well before the primary season, vocalizing the general sentiment to “throw the bums out”. The initial battle cry was to start over with a new crop of elected officials. However, this election resulted in an expulsion of many Democrat incumbents while a majority of Republican incumbents retained their seats or moved onto higher office. In Oklahoma, for example, Tea Party groups decried stimulus packages and bailout votes, yet TARP supporter Rep. Mary Fallin won the Oklahoma Governor’s race by a wide margin on Tuesday.

Republicans have been presented with a double-edged sword of opportunity with Tuesday’s victories. Republican officials have been presented with a historic mandate to reverse policies and return to basic Constitutional principles. The Republican grassroots have shown their ability to get out the vote, make their voices heard, and effect a sea-change in government.

Although Tuesday may seem at first glance to have been a major victory, the potential exists for voters to sit back trusting the new Republican majority to take up the fight in defense of the Constitution.

“The nation is at a tipping point,” R3publicans’ board member Porter Davis explained. The fact that so many incumbent Republicans were returned to office presents the real possibility that they will not make good on their campaign promises, that their votes will be similar to their records when they were in power during President Bush’s term.

“R3publicans urges all Oklahomans interested in a limited, Constitutional government to maintain vigilance over their elected officials and prepare to hold their feet to the fire once they take office in January,” noted R3publican co-founder Sandra Crosnoe.

About R3publicans:  R3publicans is a grassroots network of activists working together to restore the Republic.  The group is based in Oklahoma and networked around the country.  The group’s focus is limited government, Constitutional principles and free market ideas. R3publican’s most recent project in Oklahoma was working with the organization, OK-SAFE,  to distribute their election summary guide “Positions On Oklahoma State Questions”.

Tribute to Ron Paul from The Atlantic oft called the Brain of the TeaParty

It does not seem at all far-fetched to think that Paul could have a much greater impact on the race than last time. The Republican primaries are sure to be about economic and size-of-government issues. The subject that hurt him last time, foreign policy, will probably take a backseat. Paul will not lack for resources, thanks to his legion of online donors. Reagan, the Republican hero, once endorsed him. And the party’s energy right now is at the grass roots, which also bodes well for him. If his economic message connects in Iowa and New Hampshire—well, who can say?

Meanwhile, the country is losing faith in its economic leaders. “I feel really good about what’s happening,” he told me. “I never dreamed of a day when so many people would be thinking about the Federal Reserve. I can draw crowds of thousands! The first time I mentioned Austrian economics when I spoke at the University of Michigan, they started to applaud. I thought, What in thunder is happening? What’s happening is, the education is occurring.”

Paul looked rapturous, and he leaned forward. “Two years ago,” he said, “if you’d had somebody come in and do what you should do on the recession, they’d probably be impeached in a week. But attitudes are changing—people are understanding economics differently.”

Defeat S. 909 Matthew Shepard Hate Crimes Bill

Status: Currently in the Senate, this bill could come up for a vote as early as TODAY.

As reported on the Boston.com site, this hate crimes legislation has now been attached to a Defense spending bill that is currently on the Senate floor.

There are many problems with “hate crimes” legislation, including that violates the equal protection clause of the Fourteenth Amendment by providing special protections to some citizens it does not afford to others. It further violates the First Amendment by suppressing speech and religion.

On the Truth Tellers site, there is a video featuring testimony of Attorney General Eric Holder admitting that the bill doesn’t provide equal protection for all.

Defeat Sotomayor for Supreme Court

Status: Currently in Senate Judiciary Com and will pass out of committee easily. This should be a target vote and we should ask all constitutionalists R’s and D’s and I’s to oppose this confirmation based on:

1) right to keep and bear arms

2) private property and the respect thereof

3) prolife core issue

4) ethical standing before the committee

5) judicial temperment

Defeat of Socialized Medicine

Status: Currently being proposed by Obama Administration, moved out of the Senate Health Committee on July 15

This bill may come up for a vote before Congress goes on the summer break.

A government take over of the US health care system will be a disaster both to our economy and to the quality of medical care.

Defeat of Cap and Trade

Status: Currently in Senate, reported to be delayed until after the summer break, passed out of the House on June 26

This bill stands to have ruinous effects on our economy, significant increases in costs for utilities and purchases, and intrusion of government into nearly every part our lives.
